Now that you have a dog that chooses to engage in training and is freely offering behavior, what next? How do you teach your dog when to wait for cues without slipping back into an inhibiting mindset of control?   

On Day Three, we will discuss what cues are (and what they aren’t), how to add cues to new behaviors effectively, and how to teach dogs to discriminate and wait for cues without frustration. We will discuss the construct known as “impulse control.” When a dog learns to resist a temptation, or turn away from a distraction, what is really going on?
