Spots Available: 7
Description:

Reactive Integration

Karen Deeds is coming to town! November 1st - 4th

Kick-off Lecture - Friday evening at Marin Humane, Novato, CA

Saturday & Sunday Working Sessions - FDSA Ranch, Petaluma, CA

Monday - Private Lessons Available at FDSA Ranch

  • Does your barking dog and/or lunging dog make leash walks a chore rather than a pleasure?
  • Are group dog training classes out of the question from a behavior perspective?
  • Would you like a more relaxed dog guardianship experience?

Join Karen Deeds, Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (IAABC) to help you learn how to help your dog. Problem severity, predictability, environment plus any number of human factors determine the success of training and behavior modification. A well-crafted plan must include management along with the integration of science-based techniques. Learn how to analyze your situation and acquire and employ the skills to improve it. Complete biography here.
Reactivity is one of the most prevalent and challenging behaviors for dog owners and behaviorists alike. This seminar is appropriate for committed pet parents, trainers who have hit a plateau working with a reactive dog, and anyone who experiences reactivity in a shelter, boarding or day care environment. We will begin with a 3-hour lecture on Friday evening to lay the groundwork for two productive working days. The evening lecture includes what a reactive dog “looks” like along with learning theory, stages of learning, analysis of the critical contingencies that determine best options (manage, manage & modify, re-home, or euthanize) and those same contingencies that also help determine the success of training and behavior modification.
