Canine Separation Anxiety can cause significant stress for both you and your dog. It can cause such behaviors as vocalization, panting, drooling, jumping on doors, and destruction. It might feel as if you will never be able to leave your pup alone -- preventing you from having peace of mind and freedom to leave your home and live a normal life. Typically, these are wonderful dogs that are extremely anxious when left alone, in turn causing you stress when leaving.

How Separation Anxiety Training Works:

  • We create a training plan just for you and your dog over a number of weeks/months.
  • The process takes time, dedication, and consistency.
  • Think marathon, not a sprint. The training is done gradually with successes along the way.
  • Over time, your dog will learn to relax and be emotionally okay during your absence.
  • The desensitization process is humane, effective, and lasts!

Logistics:

  • Commitment to having your dog not left alone except for training exercises.
  • This will immediately help your dog feel safe when you leave.
  • The process takes time, dedication, and is a marathon, not a sprint.
  • The training is done by gradually exposing your dog to being left alone.
  • We start where your dog is comfortable with you being gone, and then gradually increase that time.
  • Over time your dog will learn to relax and be emotionally okay during your absence. The desensitization process is proven to work and it's humane and a lasting treatment option.

All Separation Anxiety Training is done virtually via Zoom and includes:

  • One 75-minute consultation
  • Six 30-minute online sessions with live assessments on a weekly basis
  • Customized daily training plan (5 days per week)
  • Daily feedback on homework tracked on a shared Google Spreadsheet
