Many handlers often describe a diminishment in drive as their once enthusiastic nose work dog now seems lackluster. This doesn’t have to be the case.

The core concept of K9 Nose Work® is about providing a game and environment that allows dogs to access and explore their natural skills through self-discovery and rewards. From Foundation to Elite, core skills are essential. Ideal candidates for this workshop are training on Birch, Anise & Clove, have experience searching a variety of environments under many conditions. Dogs participating in this event need to be working at the NW2 level or above. This seminar is for those teams looking to continue to develop their advanced handler skills while exposing their dog to a variety of search challenges.

This working seminar is designed to accommodate up to 10 working teams + auditors. We will work through a variety of scenarios based on the environmental conditions present. This is an interactive workshop meant to engage participants and to facilitate discussion on increasing drive & focus for the dog as well as fine tuning handler skills. Video review (TBD) may be utilized and/or search debriefs to help enhance the handler’s and participants’ understanding of the search environment and the dog’s ability to function optimally within the presenting search parameters.

$200 for a working spot (10 max), $100 to audit (20 max). If the seminar is sold out, please contact Kristin at kherrera@MarinHumane.org to be put on the wait list.
